         This could also be good in a land heavy Seismic Assault deck.

         You are right. In a control deck with 26-27 lands this should net you 2 or more cards most of the time. It is even better with Ponder.

         This card also offers fascinating possibilities if used in the popular 38 Land Legacy Deck. You could easily draw 10 cards with a single Treasure Hunt, discarding the least valuable lands drawn and fetching them back with Life from the Loam when needed. You might need to include some way to prevent decking yourself though, maybe Quest for Ancient Secrets.
